MCRU Resources

Overview

The Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) provides the clinical staff, resources, and infrastructure necessary to conduct adult and pediatric human clinical research protocols at the University of Michigan. The main performance site is located at Michigan Medicine within the Cardiovascular Center (CVC). The Domino's Farms extension is located in northeast Ann Arbor, approximately four miles from the hospital.

Together, the locations provide access to clinical research resources and lab personnel. In addition, the main location houses the metabolic kitchen, specimen core and processing lab, and an exercise physiology room. This Clinical Support Services offering includes space, support of clinical personnel, and supplies for each visit.

The MCRU CVC location is open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. every other Sunday. The CVC research unit is also equipped to house after-hours research visits that require extended periods of stay.

MCRU hours of operation calendar

This calendar is available to notify study teams of anticipated closures and Extended hours opportunities for the Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU)

Regular hours of operation are as follows:

MCRU-CVC Outpatient, pre-scheduled appointments: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday - Saturday; 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. every other Sunday.
Extended Hours: Monday - Friday after 8 p.m. and Sundays.

MCRU-Dominos Farm’s Lobby M: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.

MCRU2U - CVC Service: Campus (UH, Children’s, Taubman Center): Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

MCRU2U - Community: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This document is a template for creating the MCRU report / time and events table requested in eResearch. When filling out the document, please make sure you include MCRU services requested, length of each visit, and location. This document is then uploaded to section 42 of the IRB application and used to create a proposed MCRU budget.

MCRU Protocol Initiation Roadmap.pdf
This document is used to guide discussion during a Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) Protocol Initiation Meeting. It is also emailed to the study team with confirmation of a scheduled initiation meeting. Study teams are to fill it out with relevant study information such as study title, HUM#, MCRU locations used, clinical services requested, etc. and email it to MCRU 48 hours prior to the initiation meeting.
